I like the look of this. It has a nice feel to it. I especially like the variations in the colors. I am curious how you got this effect on the leather. The rose is a very nice accent to the cover. The lace holding on this piece is also a nice touch.

While the leather work is beautiful, the actual binding is a bit crude. The use of the lace to hold the signatures in place seems a bit large. You can see in the top signature that the lace is hold the pages open. I use the term signatures for lack of the proper term. In the printing world a signature would be each folded section and there appear to be four here. It does give a nice look on the exterior of the spine though. I would have sewn the signatures with waxed thread or braided cord for better sizing and concealment, then run the lace through it to hold the signatures to the cover. This would still give the nice look on the spine, but allow the pages to lay flatter. It would also help to keep the signature from wanting to automatically opening to the middle pages.

Over all I like the design, the look and the feel of this piece. good work!
